Advent is the four-week season leading up to Christmas. It's the time the church sets aside to help us prepare our hearts for the coming of Jesus. The word advent means “arrival” or “coming,” and it reminds us that we live in the tension of two arrivals: the birth of Christ and the promise of his return to make all things new.
