Nicodemus: The Water that Cleanses
Life
Did I tell you that in my deepest darkness I already knew Christ? But this time, when I encountered Him, I surrendered completely, without reservation. For me everything felt lost. I could not lose anything more — only restore it — and only He could do that.
Letting Him was not an easy path. Sometimes doubts invade us and make us feel as if, for some reason, we will stop being ourselves if we surrender everything to Him. But the truth is that He loves us exactly as we are, while also wanting the person He designed us to be to come to life within us. Isn’t that beautiful?
In the conversation we see between Jesus and Nicodemus, Jesus tells him that in order for someone to see God's Kingdom they must be born again, causing confusion on Nicodemus' part. If you think about the analogy, when we are born we come naturally through water, and in Christ we are born again through the Living Water that cleanses, restores, and transforms — which is Himself. When we surrender ourselves fully, body and soul, we are born again, but this time into His love and restoration.
It means allowing the Spirit to form a new version of us — the one we were always meant to be.
It is rebirth.
