THROUGH WATER DEVOTIONAL
Week 3 | Day 2
The Samaritan Woman
Water
While writing this devotional, I have become fascinated by the symbolism of water throughout the Bible. I have enjoyed discovering how each meaning aligns beautifully with the purity, vitality, and humility of Jesus Himself.
After recognizing Him as the giver of new life for me — a life that continues to grow and develop, just like a plant that needs water and light every day — I have still encountered dark moments. But now I recognize more easily the true source that offers the kind of satisfaction that refreshes us even in the middle of difficult seasons.
But we must be careful. We can easily fall back into the mistake of trying to satisfy our thirst with relationships, achievements, external validation, or distractions. And when we realize once again that none of those things can quench the thirst of the soul, we return to the fresh current that never runs dry.
Let us release those things — just like the Samaritan woman who, after recognizing the Messiah, left behind the water jar she had been carrying. In that moment she let go of the burdens that had been consuming her from within.
Jesus is like a river that never runs dry. He quenches our thirst — not just for a moment, but in a way that refreshes us forever. Because when truth reaches you, only truth matters anymore.
Drink deeply from the water that gives life.
