The Samaritan Woman
A Meal That Overflows and Is Shared
A thirst that has been satisfied can become a mission. Have you ever thought about that?
Jesus, who is the Living Water, cleanses us, forgives us, and uses us for His work. Whatever He touches becomes abundant life — but not so that it remains stagnant in a well, but so that it continues to flow.
If we were to give the Samaritan woman an even more inspiring title, we might call her “the first evangelist in history.” She ran to tell others about Jesus — the One everyone had been waiting for — the One who had transformed her life in a single encounter.
She became the living witness who first carried the Good News of the One everyone longed for. Her past no longer mattered. In fact, the very burdens she once carried now glorified the One who had revealed Himself to her in love and healed her.
Continuing with the image of water, we are all rivers that eventually flow into the same current: Jesus. And those who allow the Spirit to flow through them with His Living Water can create beautiful things.
